Barbara Sterk is an art and technology researcher currently interested in how different social and cultural beliefs can be shaped by using imaginary technologies. She holds an MA in Sociology from the University of Pécs and an MA in Digital Media from Goldsmiths College, University of London. She is a doctoral candidate at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME), Budapest where she conducted artistic research on the promise of ever-increasing productivity in labour. For three years she was a lecturer at MOME. From 2022, she has been teaching at the Media Design Department of Budapest Metropolitan University (METU) where she has courses on somatic interaction and generative design. She exhibits her interactive, kinetic and multisensorial installations in Hungary and worldwide. 

In addition, she has an interest in somatic research and physical improvisation. She is a co-founder of the Association for Somatic Movement and Education in Hungary.
